Setting up payouts with Stripe
Everything you need to connect your payout account correctly the first time — what to have ready, what each status means, and how your money moves from booking to bank.

Before you start
Have these ready and setup takes about five minutes. Your account is created as an Individual business in the US.
- Your legal full name, date of birth, and home address
- Your Social Security number (SSN) — required by US law to verify your identity
- Your bank routing and account number (or a debit card) where payouts should land
- A phone number and email you check regularly
Step-by-step setup
1.Open your Pro Dashboard
Sign in to Poshlucia and go to your Pro Dashboard. Scroll to the Payouts card.
2.Tap “Set up payouts”
You'll be taken to a secure Stripe-hosted page. Poshlucia creates a Stripe Express account for you automatically — it's free and takes about 5 minutes.
3.Verify your identity
Stripe will ask for your personal details and SSN. This is standard US identity verification (KYC) — Stripe, not Poshlucia, collects and stores it.
4.Add your bank account
Enter the routing and account number for the account where you want to receive your earnings. Double-check the numbers — a typo here delays payouts.
5.Return to Poshlucia
When Stripe finishes, you're sent back to your dashboard and your status refreshes automatically. If Stripe needs anything more, the button will say “Finish payout setup” — tap it to pick up where you left off.
Understanding your payout status
Not connected
You haven't started yet.
Clients can't complete payment for your bookings until a payout account is connected, so set this up before expecting paid appointments.
Setup incomplete
Stripe needs more information.
You've started but Stripe is still verifying something — usually identity or bank details. Tap “Finish payout setup” and check your email for requests from Stripe.
Active
You're ready to get paid.
Clients are charged when they book, and the money is released to you when you mark the appointment completed.
Balance & bank payouts
The View balance & payouts button in your dashboard opens your Stripe Express dashboard: live balance, payout history and schedule, bank account settings, and tax forms.
Timing expectations
Your first payout takes longer — typically 7–14 days while Stripe finishes verifying your account. After that, payouts arrive on a rolling basis, usually within about 2 business days.
Troubleshooting
The onboarding link expired
Onboarding links are single-use and time-limited for security. Just tap “Set up payouts” or “Finish payout setup” again — a fresh link is generated every time.
Stripe emailed me asking for documents
Sometimes Stripe needs a photo ID or extra proof of address to finish verification. Respond promptly through the secure link in their email — payouts stay paused until it's resolved.
My payouts are paused
Almost always this means bank verification is pending or your account details need confirming. Open your Stripe dashboard via “View balance & payouts” to see exactly what's outstanding.
Your details stay safe
- Only ever enter your SSN or bank details on Stripe's secure pages — check the address bar shows a stripe.com domain.
- Poshlucia never sees, stores, or asks for your banking or identity documents. Anyone claiming otherwise isn't us.
Frequently asked questions
What does Poshlucia charge me?
A 7% professional fee on completed bookings. Clients pay their own 7% service fee on top, so it doesn't come out of your price. Tips are never touched — 100% goes to you.
When does the money actually arrive?
Your client's card is authorized when they book, and the payment is captured when you mark the appointment completed. Stripe then sends it to your bank — your very first payout typically takes 7–14 days while Stripe finishes verifying your account, and after that payouts arrive on a rolling basis, usually within about 2 business days.
Can clients pay with Apple Pay?
Yes. Clients on iPhone, iPad, or Safari can check out with Apple Pay instead of typing a card. It works exactly like a card payment for you — authorized at booking, captured on completion, and paid out on the same schedule.
How do I change my bank account?
Tap “View balance & payouts” in your Pro Dashboard to open your Stripe Express dashboard, then update your bank details under Settings. Changes apply to future payouts.
Do I get a tax form?
Yes. Stripe issues a 1099-K to eligible US pros each January, available in your Express dashboard. Poshlucia doesn't handle your taxes — keep your own records and talk to a tax professional.
